Treating Nails After Acrylic Is Removed

Cut Them Off

Aftercare for Acrylic and Gel Nails

Once you remove your acrylic or gel nails, it's important to take steps to quickly heal your damaged nails. Here are a few tips:

Cut them off. This is the quickest way to remove the damaged part of your nails and start the healing process. Use a sharp pair of nail clippers to cut your nails as short as possible without cutting into the skin.

File them. If your nails are too short to cut, you can file them down to remove the damaged part. Use a fine-grit nail file and file in one direction only. Avoid sawing back and forth, as this can weaken your nails.

Moisturize them. Apply a thick layer of moisturizer to your nails and cuticles several times a day. This will help to keep your nails hydrated and prevent them from becoming dry and brittle.

Protect them. Wear gloves when doing chores that could damage your nails, such as washing dishes or gardening. You should also avoid using harsh chemicals, such as nail polish remover, on your nails.

By following these tips, you can help your damaged nails to heal quickly and get back to their healthy state.
